Plymouth, 17.05.2018
Ersa invited its US representatives to a meeting in Plymouth – and they all came along. Around 30 representatives arrived on the evening of 15 May and took part in the “Come together”. The official start of the event was 8 am on Tuesday. Following a few words of welcome from Albrecht Beck, President and COO of Kurtz Ersa North America (KNA), the current sales successes and key corporate data were presented, followed by the portfolio of tools and machines. The main focus of the two-day event was on hands-on training on the machines, rework and optical control systems. This is something that KNA’s application and demonstration center in Plymouth (USA) is ideally equipped for: in the area of selective soldering with a SMARTFLOW 2020, a VERSAFLOW 3/45 and the flagship VERSAFLOW 4/55. The application center actually has two of the VERSAFLOW 4/55 machines for customer demonstrations, one of which features the extremely flexible VERSAFLEX selective soldering module. In addition, the reflow soldering system HOTFLOW 3/20 N2, the POWERFLOW wave soldering system and, the most recent addition, the VERSAPRINT 2 Ultra³ stencil printer are also available.

In the area of tools, training was also carried out on the HR 550, HR 600 and IP XL rework systems and the ERSASCOPE systems. The benefits and features of the individual machines and systems were discussed in seven groups, basic settings demonstrated and support supplied by the respective sales documentation. The teams changed around every hour. This took all of Tuesday and half of Wednesday and was followed by a lively discussion summarising everything that had been learned. “As WebEx demonstrations via the internet are becoming ever more important in a large territorial state like the US, we also presented this live, using the example of a rework demonstration on the HR 600”, said KNA top man, Albrecht Beck. The KNA customers and the US representatives were delighted by the extremely efficient demonstration. Of course, the social aspects were not neglected at the event either: Following a joint dinner on Tuesday evening, participants went bowling where lots of fun was had by all involved. The two-day meeting ended on Wednesday afternoon and the highly-motivated representatives are looking forward to the next discussions with customers, and the ensuing orders.
